Evelyn scored last night :)
On Wednesday we got the baby shower invitations in and I'm SO happy with them! They are a great quality, and there are - luckily - no errors. Last night I stopped at Target and picked up some printable labels which I took to work with me today. I was able to get all of the invitees labels made, all of the return address labels made, and I also decided to use the labels to notify party-goers about the diaper raffle. I placed one raffle label on the outside of the envelope and one raffle label on the back of the invite so hopefully people notice one or the other. All in all, I'm very happy with them.
Last night Dad came over and brought the bedding & decor pieces we'd ordered from Target before Christmas. In all we ordered: 3-piece bedding set (fitted sheet, comforter & bumper), an accent pillow, 2 window panels, 2-pack of changing pad covers, & 2 12-packs of wall decals that match the bedding. I think it'll look very put together and hopefully not too over powering in print. I opted to skip on the printed crib skirt - figure I'll just by a solid color one if I want to.
Last night the new baby book arrived as well. I'd been given one by Grandma Jordan but it got lost in the move. Then when I was browsing this site - Baby Sakes - for a baby book for Rebekah I saw one that I just fell in love with. It even had a lot of coordinating nursery pieces. I decided to buy the baby book (which covers the first four years), a photo frame, a canvas growth chart, and also a print kit. I'm so excited to set everything up!

Monday night the crib was delivered! It requires assembly and we were exhausted on Monday and had Bradley last night so we'll be putting it together tonight. We have a mattress that is supposed to go with the crib we're storing for Rebekah - so we'll even be able to stick that in there (if only temporarily) and maybe even get the bedding on. I really can't wait to see what it's all going to look like! This past week we've collected three out of the seven high-priced items that we want to get for Evy. We're trying to space out the purchases so that we're prepared and it doesn't hit our finances so hard. The list so far: Aside from the gifts from my parents, Paul & I went out to Babies R Us on Sunday and picked up a playard. It was on sale from the store & discounted from the retailer so we saved $40! We were debating over two models for awhile, and in the end choose this Graco model. It had a canopy, a better diaper organizer, a better look and it was cheaper. The other we were debating with was this Chicco model. Some of the differences were it had a remote for the music center, it rolled on wheels when it was compacted, and you can machine wash the cover of the play mat. However, we found the other options more important to us. Hopefully I stay happy with our choice :) I'm unable to change the date that a post is created, so I'm unable to logically move my Vox posts about my pregnancy to this site. As a work-around (because I'd like this site and this blog to be as complete about my pregnancy & Evy as possible), in the sidebar on this blog page I've created a set of links to all of my posts about pregnancy from my Vox site. Check them out if you'd like, I tried to give a brief description of what the posts were about. With the month of February rapidly approaching, Becky & I made some final decisions in regards to the baby shower. We decided the place, the date, the time and the guest count. With that all in place all that was left was the invitations! |
